Since Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing® was established in 2005 at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre (WRAMC) in Washington DC, by founder and President Ed Nicholson they have received numerous inquiries from individuals and groups internationally about getting involved in their project. It is our hope that the information outlined in this prospectus will help to answer many of your questions.
In January 2007 Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFFI) was incorporated in Maryland as a subsidiary corporation to the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) and in 2009 it became an independent 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Through the help and assistance of the US team Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Australia (PHWFFA) was formed in June 2012 as a sister organization to the USA and Canadian Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing and Fishing for Heroes in the UK .Our national body is based in Victoria and we operate independently of our international sister groups although we maintain the integrity of their mission. We are a non-profit organisation supported by donations, grants, and fundraising activities by the national organisation and the local clubs conducting the programs. PHWFFA benefits from the collaboration and assistance of the Australian Casting Federation (ACF), recognized leaders in casting and fly fishing.
